As one of the smallest school in Indiana and  the nation, to offer multiple years of all three Project Lead The Way disciplines, Washington High School was selected to receive nationwide recognition as a "Small School - Large Impact" Profile school.

 Project Lead the Way classes create an engaging, hands-on classroom environment and empower students to develop in-demand knowledge and skills they need to thrive. Our professional development for teachers provides training, resources, and support to engage students in real-world learning.

Our pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science engage students in hands-on activities, projects, and problems; empower them to solve real-world challenges; and inspire them to reimagine how they see themselves.

DECA and Business Professionals of America (BPA) empower students to turn classroom learning into real-world success through leadership, competition, and career-focused experiences. These student organizations provide opportunities to develop skills in business, marketing, finance, entrepreneurship, communication, and technology while building confidence and professional connections.

Microelectronics

Microelectronics are vital to almost every aspect of modern life and are increasingly at the heart of US national defense and security. The US is facing an increasingly large gap between its domestic needs and microelectronics design and manufacturing capabilities, resulting in a growing dependence on foreign suppliers.

Agriculture

Agriculture education programs not only teach students how to be farmers, but also train tomorrow's scientists, nutritionists, teachers and so much more. A combination of classroom instruction and applied agriculture experiences outside of the classroom build the foundation for educated consumers and agriculturists.

Construction Trades

While college is a good option for many people, it isn’t for everyone — and not going to a four year college doesn’t mean you can’t have a meaningful career. Practical life skills like woodworking and welding are fast disappearing from society and are in high demand. Construction Trades courses at Washington High School allow students explore career options and learn skills they need to get started right away in their chosen career path.

Naval Jr. Reserve Officer Training Corps

Our program mission is to instill in students in United States secondary educational institutions the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility and a sense of accomplishment.

The NJROTC curriculum emphasizes citizenship and leadership development, as well as our maritime heritage, the significance of sea power, and naval topics such as the fundamentals of naval operations, seamanship, navigation and meteorology. Classroom instruction is augmented throughout the year by community service activities, drill competition, field meets, flights, visits to naval activities, marksmanship training, and other military training.
